Beginnings Are Always Messy

Mini update. Taken in the morning after working all night on my first typography assignment. I'm kinda happy with how it turned out but would have experimented a little longer if I had more time.

I made it a self-portrait as well.

My presentation didn't go so well, I was one of the first people and no one had any comments or questions. I think that's how this class is going to go like many other studio classes I take. No one really has anything to say about my work so I never have a real dialogue.

Maybe I'm just too weird. I did everything by hand not in Photoshop or Illustrator.

Here is the final piece. The table, scotch tape and glue are part of the picture. So it's a photograph of a collage on top of a photograph.

A Spot Of Beauty

This is one of my favorite pictures. Taken in 2013 on a walk from my apartment to my mom's.

Today I'm finishing up my first assignment for my typography class. I don't have all the materials I need but I'm doing the best I can. Everything is a work in progress.

In The Middle

Two summers ago my family and I took a short drive to Hecla for a picnic. It was raining by the time we got there but we decided to stay anyway and have a nice time.

I really enjoyed myself but I had a huge headache the whole time.

We used my husband's truck to get everyone out there. My little sister Rosie and I had to sit in the middle.  Her in the front and me in the back.

Later Never Happens

I've been posting feet pictures in a hurry without writing much of anything. I tell myself that I'll write more later, update the picture by the end of the day. This usually makes me late in posting and I never elaborate on the pictures.

Earlier when I was feeding Artis and putting him to sleep I had all these thoughts I wanted to write out. Just get out on some paper but now I can't remember a single one.

I am pleased with myself for keeping up with my goal. I feel a little silly that I actually have so many pictures I've taken of just my feet. I didn't think they were so many.

I have to end this now because Artis woke up and I'm now typing with one hand.

A White Meal

Time got away from me today. Artis wouldn't have his bottle at the beginning of the day so we had a very fussy baby.

After everyone had a bath I made a very late breakfast/lunch not really paying attention to what I put together.

When I looked down I saw I made a "white" meal. It's something my grandma used to make.

Dancing At The Mall

Day 24 of 365 Feet Project

I went with the AUUC Ukrainian dance school to perform with my ballet class at a mall.  I teach the little ones.  We did a snow flake dance.  I was really pleased with how well it turned out.

Guest feet were Oberon's.

Oops Day 23

I spent the whole day thinking I had more time to post my feet. But of course babies occupied my time away from the computer.

Thinking About Spring

This photo was taken last spring along the path of my favorite place to walk. I can't wait until it gets warmer and I can take the boys out for walks.

Day 21 of 365 Feet Project

This was the last time I saw my feet when I was pregnant. Sometime in August on a lovely rainy day.

Day 20 of 365 Feet Project

Was so tired I didn't post yesterday and am cutting it really close in posting today.

This photo is from July 1, 2014 at the fire works with my family.
The little feet belong to my nephew Roscoe.

I really like these shoes.

A Long Day

I meant to post this picture before midnight but I'm a couple of hours off.

This is me rocking Oberon with my feet while I feed Artis.

A Wedding Social

This photo didn't turn out that well and it was the only one I took at my friend Chelsea's wedding social.

I had a good time but was too tired to dance.

A Little Late

Sitting on the express bus on my way to  class.  Well I'm hoping I'm on my to school. I've never been on this bus before but I was already late so I  jumped on the first one that came by.

Being late and taking unfamiliar bus routes give me lots of anxiety. When I was younger I sometimes wouldn't go at all. Couldn't stand the idea of walking into class. But since the twins I can't afford to give into my insecurities.

I also have a terrible feeling that I misinterpreted the assignment. I'll be the one that has a sketch book filled with text and everyone else will have their work on the computer.

Nothing I can do about that now.

Small Pain For Healthy Gain

U Today the twins received their monthly shots.

I think that's why they are having a hard time tonight. A lot more dramatic crying then usual. But, they have settled for a few minutes.

When we brought them to the hospital today Oberon knew what was up. He was worried and fussing.

I held Artis for his shot and Yuri held Oberon.  We switch each time, hoping the babies won't stay mad at us.

Right before I told Artis it was going to hurt for a moment but it was medicine I thought he needed and we were both going to cry but would get through it.

I thought I said it quietly until the doctor laughed. She said it was small pain for healthy gain.

Not looking forward to next month.

Day 14 of 365 Feet Project

I'm so tired and was about to fall asleep when I remembered I still needed to post some feet.

I spent the day working on homework in between looking after the twins. A little challenging but I think I'm learning to use my time efficiently.

That's me and Artis' feet.

Day 13 of 365 Feet Project

Been working on some homework today. Haven't taken any new feet photos with my phone for a while.

This was taken when I was feeling all busy and jumbled.

My nail polish is slowly fading away.

Too Cold To Dance

Today dance classes resumed after the winter break but lots of the students were sick. Almost every class had one student. I taught my oldest girl to spin across the room.

We had a lot of fun but the room was so cold.  I didn't want to take my socks off.

Cute Babies

They are awesome little people

Back To School

I began a typography class today. It's been a really long time since I took a studio course. I'm nervous about getting the work done around looking after the babies.

I think I've allowed myself to get really lazy about my art.

This is going to be good for me or everything will fall apart. Either way it should be interesting.

My feet, my mom's feet and Rosie's hand in 2012

Two Chubby Babies

Oberon is beginning to catch up to Artis. Soon I won't be able to use weight as a way to tell them apart.

The End Of Christmas

My mom's little Russian Santa and my feet.

A Little Late Day 6

I haven't had a moment by the computer to post yesterday's photo.

This was taken at the support Joshua Key public rally on December 12.

Almost Midnight

New Year's Eve at a friend's house. We went to a party for a little while but came home in time to kiss the babies at midnight.

I haven't been on the computer all day. I'm going to be late posting this.

He Is Not A Burrito

Oberon has fantastic feet! . This post doesn't count as part of 365 Feet Project because my feet aren't in it.

Everything was peaceful for a little while and then they both woke up.  I know a lot of people recommend feeding at the same time but my squirmy babies are able to overpower their little mother.

Today We're Pirates

It's 10:30 pm I was worried I wouldn't get a post done by midnight. Artis is in my lap and doesn't want to sleep. We're sitting, being lazy and thinking about life.

The boys are dressed in pirate pjs and I'm in something clean.
We're listening to Cole Porter and about to begin the epic read, healthy sleep habits, happy twins.

While writing this I had to switch between babies. Now Oberon is in my lap.

A Little Bit Of Cheating And No Sleep

I can’t sleep and I don’t really want to sleep. So, I’m not having a bad night/early morning. The gallery across the street alarm went off for a while but it didn't wake my twins. The babies have been lovely compared to most nights. They took turns crying so it’s been manageable.

I've been thinking about this project, if I should take a new photo everyday or use ones from the last few years. I've taken a lot of photos of my feet, I think hundreds and I want to share them.

Below is a photo taken at a 24 hour Walmart, it was part of the very beginning of my self-portrait feet series in 2012.

Post Christmas Clean Up

I'm learning to do things with one hand.  I'm also figuring out what my priorities are when I'm two handed. Usually they involve cleaning bottles and making food.

My lovely little sister Rosie came over so I've had the opportunity to clean up. Got rid of all my recycling and did the dishes. It's surprising how happy a clean sink makes me.

I still need to mop my kitchen floor, I'm embarrassed by how bad its gotten.

Coffee has become my new favorite thing, besides my twins.

New Year's Feet

Happy New Years! I had a very productive 2014 by giving birth to two little boys, Artis-Yul and Oberon-Wolf. They are just two fantastic little people.

This year I've decided to expand Friday's Feet to everyday of the year. Creating a series of self-portraits and an opportunity for over coming procrastination.
